Girl Scouts of Central Illinois

_Tim and Stacy talk with Sheri McGill of the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois.

The Girl Scout program is girl-driven, reflecting the ever-changing needs and interests of today’s girls.

The Girl Scout Leadership Experience engages girls in discovering self, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world a better place.  All Girl Scout experience are designed to tie in one or more of the 15 outcomes of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

The Girl Scout Leadership Experience encourages girls to take increasing responsibility for designing and implementing their own activities, which results in extensive opportunities for them to see how their actions can impact the lives of others.

Age-appropriate activities in Girl Scouting introduce girls to new concepts. Through these activities, caring adults encourage girls to explore a variety of related topics, empower them with the ability to choose the directions they will take to accomplish a goal, and then support them as they put their ideas into action. The experience often illuminates a girl’s personal skills and interests and gives them the confidence to make an impact with their words and actions.
